A Pair of Lower Manhattan Restaurants Are Throwing Lofty Parties on July 4

Independence Day is almost here, and this year why not exercise your freedom by hitting up a swanky rooftop party at one of the tallest restaurants in the city? In Lower Manhattan, there’s not one but two sky-high parties for you patriots to choose from — boasting sweeping views of the slated fireworks over the East River.

The first is on the terraces of Overstory, the elegant cocktail lounge atop the art deco masterpiece 70 Pine St. The 64th-floor soiree is $195 per ticket and gives attendees access to an open bar, passed canapés, barbecue and 360-degree panoramic views. The party starts at 7 p.m.

The other USA birthday bash is at Manhatta (28 Liberty St.). The $295 admission includes breathtaking views of the fireworks — plus an open bar, barbecue, passed canapés and desserts. This one begins at 8 p.m.

Both events take place rain or shine, and in case the open bars didn’t give it away, these events are for ages 21 and up. So book your babysitters now.
