It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer (FINALLY), so we’re in the mood to celebrate with twice the number of exciting things happening in June for all ages and interests. From World Pride NYC events to Shakespearean plays and recycling pop-ups, we’ll ensure you have an excuse to stay active and entertained.

Bookmark Downtown NYC’s official Events calendar to keep track of new additions in the coming weeks. 🎉

World Mural Project – June 1-30; free
Fifty international and national artists were selected to create murals throughout the five boroughs that reflect and honor the beauty, struggle and strides of the LGBTQIA+ community. We are thrilled that one of these confirmed mural locations is located in our own neighborhood at 74 Broad St! Check it out and tag us on your channel of choice when you do.

NYC 5K Schlep: Breast, Ovarian & Prostate Cancer Run/Walk  – June 2 @ 9a-11p; prices vary
Schlep in solidarity – The NYC 5K Schlep in Battery Park brings awareness and education to help further breast, ovarian & prostate cancer research and treatment supporting a BRCA multi-disciplinary clinic.

Downtown Alliance’s E-Waste Collection*  – June 9 @ 10a-4p; free
Our Paper Shredding recycling party was such a hit that we decided to give electronics a try! On Sunday, June 9 we’re hosting an E-Waste Collection on Fulton Street (between Gold and Cliff Streets) to help everyone safely dispose of old and defunct computers, TVs, monitors, cell phones and more.

Shakespeare Downtown’s Hamlet – June 13-23 @ 6:30-9p; free
“To be or not to be” at the premiere, that is the question. Shakespeare Downtown returns to Lower Manhattan for an extraordinary outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet tragedy at Castle Clinton. Tickets are free and are available on-site beginning at 6p. Get there early to secure a solid spot of the stage!

Silent Disco Pride Party – June 15 @ 7-10p; free
Quiet Events celebrates World Pride Month with a silent dance party at Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park in Battery Park City. Sunset views and Lady Liberty will provide the ambiance as attendees donning light-up headphones dance their hearts out to their music choice of three live DJs. Rainbow color attire is encouraged!

JAZZ AGE LAWN PARTY – June 15-16 @ 12-6p; tickets start at $40, children 12 and under are free
JAZZ AGE LAWN PARTY is New York City’s original prohibition era inspired gathering that bookends the start and end of summer on Governors Island. Founder Michael Arenella jump-started the nostalgic jig in 2005 and continues to develop programming that is family-friendly and inspires you to move!

River To River Festival – June 18-25 @ various times and locations; free
The 18th Annual River To River Festival returns to Lower Manhattan with a variety of free live performances, open galleries and interactive installations to delight and encourage audiences to relax, slow down and appreciate the art of learning something new. Featured artists include Pam Tanowitz, NIC Kay and Yoko Ono.

Night at the Museums – June 25 @ 4-8p; free
Over a dozen historic institutions, memorials and museums in Lower Manhattan are opening their doors for an evening of free exploration, thanks to the River To River 2019 Festival!

This is a great opportunity (ahem, no excuses) to check out unique cultural locations like the African Burial Ground National Monument, gorgeous architecture housed within the National Archives at New York City, the South Street Seaport Museum and many more.

P.S. If you’re in need of some great food, take advantage of that week’s Get Low Tuesday night dinner special at Acqua.

PRIDE SOUP! Queer on the Pier – June 28-29 @ 9p-4a for ages 21+; tickets start at $45
West Village bar staple Henrietta Hudson is teaming up with WorldPride NYC 2019 + Stonewall 50 to bring you the Queerest party of the season for over 2,000 LGBTQIA+ friends & allies!
