Schimmel Center Starts Its New Season

Make every week a Schimmel week! This weekend, The Schimmel Center kicks off its 2018-2019 season.  Starting September 28, enjoy award-winning comedy, dance, cabaret, folk and rock, documentaries, and more.

Come see the hilarious stand-up comedian Caroline Rhea on Friday, September 28 as she performs a fresh, spontaneous solo comedy set.  Award-winning artist Mandy Gonzalez is also part of the season launch weekend singing songs from her latest EP ‘Fearless: B Sides’, on Saturday, September 29.

More highlights this season include:

All female alt country group Farewell Angelina will be debuting their song “I Feel You” from the bonus track of their upcoming EP ‘Women and Wine,’ with a special feature by Michael Bacon on the cello. Other performances include Paul Guzzone and Michael Bacon of The Bacon Brothers on Friday, October 5.

The combined soulful sounds of North Indian and South Indian style classical music  played on a 10-string double violin by violinist and vocalist L. Shankar. Joining Shankar on stage will be tabla maestro Abhijit Banerjee and percussionist Chris Chris Garcia on the South Indian clay pot and frame drum on Saturday October 6.

An evening of Jazz, Rock, and tropical Rhythm with Latin Grammy nominated composer and guitarist Bernie Williams and his all-star band on Friday, October 12. Special after-show meet and greet will be available for the first 51 buyers of VIP tickets only.

A special director’s cut viewing of Little Shop of Horrors just in time for Halloween. Follow flower shop assistant Seymour on his quest to feed his mysterious plant, Audrey II, which only feeds on human flesh and blood on Tuesday, October 30. Pre-viewing activities begin at 6:30 PM.
