Enjoy A Midsummer Night’s Dream In Lower Manhattan

Guest blog provided by Shakespeare Downtown

Classical theatre has arrived in Lower Manhattan!

You can now see a free outdoor performance at Castle Clinton National Monument in The Battery.  A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run from June 14-24, Thursdays -Sundays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Come and experience how the play was originally performed over 400 years ago during Shakespeare’s time.  Enjoy the fresh air, waterfront views of Lady Liberty and a green setting while you experience a true time-honored performance.

Shakespeare Downtown’s cofounder and Artistic Director, Billie Andersson, and her staff have put together a wonderful show for the Lower Manhattan community. Tickets are free and available the day of the performance at the Castle starting at 6pm.  Performances are always free, and serve an audience of up to 200 each night, creating a truly accessible Shakespeare in the park for Lower Manhattan!
