Simply Wine Hosts Pride Month Tasting for Worthy Cause

Drink for a great cause this Friday at Simply Wine (55 Liberty St.), where the curated wine and spirits specialists are having a tasting in honor of Pride Month. Customers can sample several varieties from queer-owned brands and support OnePULSE Foundation, a LGBTQ+ nonprofit based in Orlando. Simply Wine will donate a portion of their sales to the organization, which was founded to preserve the legacy of the victims of the 2016 mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub.

“We were initially looking at NYC charities but decided our brethren in Southern states are under more imminent danger,” owner Corey Hillsey told the Alliance, “so getting our dollars down there felt more necessary.”

Simply Wine is also offering limited-edition bottle totes to benefit the same organization. The six-bottle totes cost $10, and $5 from each purchase goes to OnePULSE.

If you can’t make it to Simply Wine in person, you can shop Pride totes and socially conscious bevs via their website. Pro-tip: Customers south of Chambers Street can enjoy free one-hour deliveries from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
