The “Heat” Is On!

It’s getting hot out there, and it’s going to get even hotter as Time Out New York and Pop-UP NYC, Inc. team up to bring you “Heat– an exclusive pop-up food festival event at Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport (89 South Street second floor) on Thursday, June 27th from 6-9PM.

Enjoy unlimited tastings by NYC chefs as they showcase the unique and various ways they use heat in their food preparations. Some restaurant participants include Brick Lane Curry, Amigos, Prandial, EN Japanese Brasserie, 180 Neapolitan Eatery, Hospoda, Rayuela, Madras Mahal, The Randolph and Dim Sum Go Go.  There will also be many new restaurants participating, so attendees will get a glimmer into some of New York’s latest and greatest dining destinations.

Things get even hotter with live music and a presentation by New York-based artist R. McCarthy who uses a simple lighter create his art. Everything from portraits to still lifes are rendered with a lighter instead of a brush. During the event, you can enter a chance to win R. McCarthy’s one-of-a-kind piece entitled “Burning.” In addition there will be free hot-sauce samplings and giveaways.

The venue has wrap-around windows and an outdoor deck facing the water – so you can hang-out indoors or outdoors while you cool yourself off with complimentary drinks provided by Stella Artois, Stella Artois Cidre, Four Roses Bourbon, Rhum Clement, Merlet Spirits Creme Liqueurs and the Bay Handcrafted Vodka.
