What To Do This Tuesday In Lower Manhattan

By: Joseph Ferris

This week has two restaurants participating in Get Low. Both Andaz Kitchen & Bar and Trading Post are giving diners 20% dinner for two on Tuesday.

One restaurant offers a culinary tour of the globe. The other brings the sea to your table.

Andaz Kitchen & Bar
With a menu inspired by Italy, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Philippines, Vietnam and the United States, Andaz Kitchen & Bar uses locally-sourced ingredients to highlight global fare. Among the favorites are the handmade ravioli, the Kentucky-inspired Bourbon Mash Risotto, and the Philippine inspired Chicken Adobo. Wash it all down at this Wall Street spot with a cheekily-named cocktail like The Merger or The Intervention.

Trading Post
A Seaport seafood restaurant, the Trading Post can found on John Street in a building that dates back 1840. With a whiskey bar in the cellar and a ground floor featuring high-top tables and offering views of the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge. The creamy seafood chowder and Trading Post burger are crowd favorites.

Make a night of Get Low

Make Your Way to a Matinee
Pair a good deal on food with a good deal on theater tickets. Stop by the TKTS booth at the corner of John and Front streets – a stone’s throw from the Trading Post and a short walk from Andaz – and purchase discounted tickets for a Wednesday matinee. While each day’s supply changes, the critically-acclaimed My Fair Lady and The Band’s Visit were among shows that have been available recently. Just make sure to stop by before dinner — the booth closes at 6p.

Dance the Night Away at the Battery Dance Festival
After dinner, head to Wagner Park for an evening of dance performances at the free Battery Dance Festival, back for its 37th year. Tuesday evening features performances from Battery Dance, Asya Zlatina and Dancers, Iker Karrera Dance Company, Danaka | Dana Katz, and Citadel + CIE. Stick around for Everybody Dance Now at 9 PM when audience members get to learn a part of the choreography they just saw.

How to Redeem the Get Low Deal
Just mention “Get Low” to your server to receive 20 percent off dinner for two, and don’t forget to use #getlow2018 when posting photos of your plate! Check out the full lineup of all participating restaurants here.
