At Last, Poets House Is Back!

Poets House, the gorgeous poetry library, literary center and sanctuary for lovers of the written word at 10 River Terrace, is finally reopening after a lengthy closure in the pandemic. Tribeca Citizen reports that Poets House will hold a community-wide Reopening Celebration on Saturday, January 27, complete with performances and readings. The celebration is open to the public and free to attend; it will run from 3 to 6 p.m.

Poets House closed in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and flooding in August 2021 exacerbated that closure. Thankfully, its 70,000-plus collection of poetry books and material was largely unharmed, and Poets House will resume regular library hours (11 a.m. through 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays) starting January 30. Check Poets House’s website for more news about future programming. We’re so happy to have this wonderful space back in the community!
