Book launch of Nothing Else But Miracles by Kate Albus, which features the historical architecture of the Seaport Museum’s Schermerhorn Row. Based on real locations in old New York and set in the final year of World War II, this new book tells the engaging story of 12-year-old Dory Byrne who lives with her brothers, Fish and Pike, on New York City’s Lower East Side. This novel, geared for audiences ages 9–12, has special ties to the Seaport Museum and shows how, when things get tough, the neighborhood can give you what you need. At this book talk, Albus will read selections from the book and discuss her research process and the historical events and places brought to life within its pages, including the remains of two old hotels inside the Seaport Museum’s 1810–1812 landmarked building.
