9/11 Tribute Museum Reopens Just in Time for Anniversary With ‘Person To Person History’

Early September marks the end of summer, and also the time of year New Yorkers look back on one of the city’s darkest days. The wave of post-lockdown museum reopenings is rolling along just in time, too: The 9/11 Tribute Museum reopened last week, and will also begin storytelling programs this week.

The museum at 92 Greenwich Street is the main gallery for sharing intimate stories and a “person to person history” of the September 11, 2001 attacks, as well as the rescue and recovery missions that followed and the subsequent resiliency of Lower Manhattan.

Starting September 8, the museum’s storytelling programs will resume indoors with COVID-19 safety protocols in effect: preset physical distancing markers, separate seating and a facemask requirement. Tickets are $15 for adults, with discounts for children, students, seniors and military members.

The museum will be open for advanced ticketing at 25% capacity, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10a to 5p Also in Lower Manhattan, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will reopen to visitors on September 12.
