There’s a Second Primary Coming Up in New York: Here’s How to Vote Early

Lest you thought we were done with the democratic process until November, New York has a second primary coming up on August 23, following June’s primary for local elections. Thanks to our relatively new voting expansion laws, starting on August 13 and running through August 21, New Yorkers can vote for their choice of U.S. House Representative as well as select nominees to the New York State Senate — all of whom will compete against challengers from opposing parties during the midterm elections this fall.
To find your early poll site, check findmypollsite.vote.nyc, Note that your early-voting site is likely different from your poll site on primary day. (Your poll site in August is also potentially different from your poll site in June.) It’s worth keeping in mind that, because of citywide redistricting from earlier this year, you may now be in a different U.S. congressional district than you were last time.
The City has a map that can help you figure out your new district and who you’ll be voting for in this primary. For more information on early voting, primary day voting and the candidates on your ballot, visit nycvotes.org.
