Bringing You the News

10/09/2009

The Downtown Alliance’s work involves everything in our neighborhood from infrastructure, to transportation, to sanitation, to public safety, to retail, to construction. Because of that, we’re always following news that affects the district.

We realized that some of our readers might be interested in following it too. So, starting today, we want to be the place to go for a rundown of what’s going on on in Lower Manhattan. While this won’t be exhaustive, it will provide you with the major stories of each day. We hope you’ll stop in for Downtown news often, and please: let us know if we miss something you’d like to see here.

To start off, we’ll give you a rundown of the entire week.

In this week’s news:

Work on the Fulton Transit Center is ramping up, another reversal for Tire Swing Park, 130 Liberty St. demolition details and more in this week’s Downtown Express.

According to a report from CB Richard Ellis, the NYC office market is showing signs of life.

The Battery Park library will open in March 2010, the Battery Park Broadsheet reports.

SHO Shaun Hegatt recently claimed two honors: a Michelin star and a spot on Esquire Magazine’s Best New Restaurants in America list.

Newmark Knight Frank has been appointed to take over the leasing of 100 Church St., Lois Wiess says in her Between the Bricks column in The New York Post.
