Century 21 Is Coming Back to Its Original Location!
Sharpen off your bargain-hunting eyes and pad up your jostling elbows because Century 21 is coming back!
In November 2020, the savvy shoppers’ beloved paradise closed all 13 locations, including its iconic Lower Manhattan home, during the height of the pandemic. Now the store will return to its grand flagship at 25 Church Street in Spring 2023, according to WWD. It will be more compact and easier to navigate than its predecessor, and the owners say it will be the same off-price mecca that generations of shoppers have loved.
The 60-year-old retailer will return as a streamlined version of its original form, according to WWD, with operations help from Legends, a company that oversees retail operations at the MLB flagship on Sixth Avenue, Yankee Stadium and One World Trade Center. “Our dad built this business 60 years ago. We feel obligated to keep the legacy going,” IG Gindi, co-CEO of the company whose family founded the chain, told WWD.
The new iteration will span 100,000 square feet over four floors. The store will be adding “NYC” to its logo to highlight its connection to the local shopper.
“Century 21 is, and always will be, a New York City brand,” Raymond Gindi, IG’s brother, added.
