The China Institute’s Perfect Plan for Celebrating International Tea Day

Tea lovers, we’ve got the springtime event for you.

The China Institute is hosting a Tea for Harmony event in celebration of International Tea Day on May 20. Several of the teas and other elements of the celebration will be flown in from the port city of Quanzhou specifically for the soiree. Attendees will enjoy a ceremonial demonstration, specialty tastings of five unique varieties, a gift bag giveaway and a marionette performance.

The International Tea Day celebration will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the China Institute’s Yaji Cultural Salon. Tickets are $10 for the general public or free for China Institute students and members, and the website notes they’re likely to sell out quickly. In other words, reserve yours now.
