Here’s a New Resource For Remote Gigs, Emergency Funds and Staying Calm
People around the world are coming together in inspiring and creative ways to support their communities, from Italian tenor Maurizio Marchini serenading his quarantined neighbors in Florence from the balcony, to a Spanish fitness instructor taking to the roof to lead a workout. In New York City, a group of four 20-somethings teamed up to coordinate free delivery to those at risk and, in just 72 hours, 1,300 volunteers signed up to deliver groceries and medicine to older New Yorkers and the immunocompromised.
Want to know what’s available to you and where to turn for help? LMHQ has always been a resource for the community, striving to serve Lower Manhattan but reaching far outside the five boroughs. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the individual posts and articles, we’ve assembled a resources page with everything you need to get through these uncertain times.
On this resources page, you’ll find freelance jobs and remote gigs of all sorts, volunteer groups ready to lend a hand, a list of government assistance programs for small businesses and individuals and a few live meditation and workout options to keep yourself balanced.
Check it out at hello.lmhq.nyc/resources. The page is updated daily, so be sure to check back. You can also sign up for LMHQ’s newsletter for featured resources and virtual events.
If you have any additions you’d like to suggest, feel free to get in touch with us!
