Commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day Online With The Museum Of Jewish Heritage
Even though New Yorkers continue to stay apart, we can still all come together (virtually) to honor the memory of lives lost during the Holocaust and pay tribute to those who survived.
The Museum of Jewish Heritage is hosting its annual commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) online as a virtual event. The Gathering of Remembrance will take place Sunday, April 11, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and will include speeches from Holocaust survivors and their family members.
The strength of community can be meaningful; many people felt a sense of connection celebrating Passover or Easter with their families virtually. Yom HaShoah marks one of the most important yet horrific times in all of Judaism. Because of its significance, and the current moment in time we are living in, it is also a moment to be remembered not in isolation, but in virtual connections with those who feel the magnitude of the day.
