Well, we survived the holidays. We’ve weathered the season’s first snow storm and some unruly winds. You may have put aside that project, figuring it could wait until the New Year, not wanting to get out of your warm apartment, but now it is time for some New Year’s Resolutions. It’s time to get that work done and finally cross it off your list. The Hive is here to help you focus. You can finally get away from the tv and other distractions in your home and get some work done! You also have the added benefit of meeting people who are similarly trying to accomplish their own work…  maybe they have some expertise in an area you could really benefit from. You just don’t know what you’ll find until you come on in and see what all the buzz is about.

This is my invitation to all of you to come in and test run the Hive. If you’re a bit of a commitment-phobe we have a few events on the horizon where you can come in and see the Hive – no strings attached. On Friday, January 15th, we will be hosting the first Jelly of 2010. This is an all day event where people can come together and work at no cost. Essentially, it’s a lighter version of what the Hive is all about. You can learn more about Jelly and other Jelly’s taking place around the world here. You can also RSVP to attend our Jelly here. You will also have the opportunity to meet all the regular Hive members and see what the Hive is all about!

The next event we are hosting is even more casual – an opportunity to meet our Lower Manhattan neighbors! The Tribeca Performing Arts Center has been organizing monthly networking events for over four years in different locations around Lower Manhattan. The first 2010 Meet and Greet will be on Wednesday, January 20th from 6:30 – 9:00pm. Frankly Wines has kindly donated beverages, and snacks will also be provided. We promise no speeches or remarks – just a chance to make a new friend or a business connection.

As an added incentive, new members who drop off their business card at either of these events will receive a free day to work at the Hive!

Soon to come are scheduled happy hours at Harry’s Café and also lunches from Harry’s Italian who supplied the delicious food at our launch party last month. You can also always check out our calendar of events but I’ll keep you posted here too!
