This was a busy year for LM Live. From packed movie screenings, to book talks, to interactive events at local spots like the Seaport Museum, our signature cultural programming initiative brought hundreds of community members together to learn, eat, dance, watch and connect. We’ll have even more programming for you in the coming months; until then, here’s a recap of LM Live’s fourth year.
New York on Film
Our New York on Film series — which features screenings of films that highlight the history, culture and controversy that have defined the city over the years — is always a hit, and this year was no exception. We hosted four sold-out screenings for documentaries, noir films and a New York cult-classic, with post-screening talkbacks from the filmmakers and industry insiders.
- “The Warriors” with Michael Gingold and Neil Rosen
- “P.S. Burn This Letter Please” with Jennifer Tiexiera, Craig Olsen and Richard Koenigsberg
- “Bill Cunningham New York” with Philip Gefter, Kim Hastreiter and Richard Press
- “Force of Evil” with Imogen Sara Smith and Geoffrey O’Brien
Cultural Conversations
In 2025, we hosted several book talks at a number of venues in Lower Manhattan, including the elegant Down Town Association and AltoCanna. You can check out our recaps below.
- Crime, Corruption and the Evolution of New York’s Underworld
- Art, Ambition and Scandal in Gilded Age New York
- Everything Is Now: The 1960s NYC Avant-Garde
Community Activities
In 2025 we partnered with the Seaport Museum for several interactive community events, including a cheeky Valentine’s Day Acquaintance Card event at Bowne & Co. and the Season 8 premiere of “Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozi” in honor of Native American History Month.
