“The Nutcracker” to Pirouette Into Brookfield Place’s Winter Garden

If the chilly December air has sent visions of sugar plums dancing in your head, it might be time to head to Brookfield Place (230 Vesey Street) for the New York Theatre Ballet’s stylish rendition of The Nutcracker

The following dates and times are for the dance company’s schedule of the iconic ballet, performed throughout Brookfield Place’s bedecked Winter Garden:

Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m.

Saturday, December 3 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sunday, December 4 at 1 p.m.

Performed to Tchaikovsky’s classic score, the piece is set in an Art Nouveau style, circa 1907, with innovative choreography by longtime New York Theatre Ballet choreographer, Keith Michael. Click here to register for free tickets.

Also: Come early if you want your little ones to brush up on their dance moves. The ballet is offering mini-classes two hours prior to each performance for children ages 5-8. No previous experience or special outfit necessary. The classes will be located in the Winter Garden — first come, first served.
