You’ll Find These Restaurants at the Dine Around Downtown Community Food Festival on June 4

Hope you’ve been practicing your best Joey Chestnut impression, because the Dine Around community food festival is just a few days away. On June 4, more than 40 local restaurants will descend on Fosun Plaza at 28 Liberty St. from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering up delicious signature menu items ranging from only $5 to $9.
This year’s festival marks the return of award-winning chef and author Rocco DiSpirito as its special guest host. DiSpirito has had an ongoing relationship with the Downtown Alliance since 2020, when he began hosting the virtual “Cooking at Home” series pairing him with local chefs as they demonstrate to viewers how to make their favorite dishes. He just released his latest cookbook, “Everyday Delicious,” and will be signing copies at the event.
Launched in 1997, Dine Around Downtown has become Lower Manhattan’s premier tasting event. Every year, thousands of local residents, office workers and tourists alike gather at the festival to celebrate the neighborhood’s rich culinary scene. This year’s festival showcases the increasing diversity of downtown’s food options with vendors representing cuisines from India to the coast of Maine to Greek and Chinese delicacies and so much more. Furthermore, this year’s vendors include buzzy recent additions to the neighborhood such as Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson, Best Sicily Bottega and Tin Building by Jean Georges to name a few.
This year, you’ll find plenty of desserts and international favorites, along with the chance to win some excellent prizes. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, we took the liberty of compiling some food itineraries for every palate. And to get you extra hyped, we we even have some throwback photos from Dine Around Downtown in the 1990s. Oh, the fashion!!!
As part of the Alliance’s ongoing commitment to a sustainable Lower Manhattan, Dine Around Downtown is a zero-waste event. Attendees will find composting and recycling stations located throughout the plaza, all of which will be staffed by educators who can advise on proper waste diversion and offer information on other zero-waste programs available in the neighborhood.
