Eataly Is Hosting a Wine-and-Cheese Class to Enhance Your Dinner Party Skills

With the weather cooling (and flu season’s imminent arrival), downtowners might find themselves spending more time at home. We’re not suggesting you shut yourself in — there are so many places to eat and drink around here, after all — but it doesn’t hurt to brush up on your own skills in the kitchen ahead of the winter, especially if you’re planning to throw your friends a cozy soiree when the snow starts falling.

Good news: Eataly NYC Downtown has your back. On October 20, the Italian market is hosting a wine-and-cheese class centered around the varietal that oenophiles consider “the king of wines,” aka Barolo. More from Eataly:

Barolo is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, a prized varietal grown in certified areas in the northern region of Piemonte. Across the world, the complex red wine is renowned for its bold flavors and graceful aging. Traditionally, Barolo is a slow and steady wine, sometimes taking more than 10 years to soften and become ready for consumption.

The class promises to explore “glass by glass” the intricate notes and flavors of Barolo, paired with a range of formaggio to complement each gulp. You’ll be ready to wow all your pals in no time — even Jennifer, and she’s picky. Book your spot for the 90-minute class, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
