Gov­er­nors Island Nature is a new ini­tia­tive that will expand vis­i­tor engage­ment with the island’s 120 acres of nat­ur­al and built open spaces. Today’s schedule – 12pm: ​“Hope and Con­straints in Resort­ing our Urban Habi­tats,” a lec­ture by Dr. Steven Han­del, pro­fes­sor Dis­tin­guished Pro­fes­sor of Ecol­o­gy and Evo­lu­tion Emer­i­tus at Rut­gers Uni­ver­si­ty Admi­rals House, Nolan Park. 12:45pm: Q&A with Dr. Han­del and the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island’s hor­ti­cul­ture team Admi­rals House, Nolan Park. 2 – 3:30pm: Seed Ball Work­shop Nolan Park. 2 – 3pm: Fall Foliage Walk­ing Tour Nolan Park.
