Crown Shy Patty Melt, Get in My Belly!
Sometimes all you need to give your evening a little boost is a sandwich that’s a touch extra — a delicious and indulgent order that has the power to make all your troubles, ahem, melt away. You know, like, a patty melt!
One such option recently popped up on the menu at the decadent Crown Shy (70 Pine St.). Chef James Kent’s inspired sandwich (and we truly do mean inspired — he constructed this baby with the one from the Waverly Diner in mind that he enjoyed so much as a kid) does come with a $28 price tag. But, dear reader, you will experience no buyer’s remorse. Kent’s updated version of this classic dish includes dry-aged beef, jalapeno and American cheese and comes with a stack of fries.
The patty melt is served exclusively at the bar all night, every night, whether or not you require the emotional support of cheese. We won’t judge either way.
