Schools Are Giving Out Free Masks for New Yorkers Who Need Them

Friendly reminder: In addition to the Department of Education’s grab-and-go program to ensure New Yorkers won’t go hungry during the COVID-19 outbreak, the initiative at school locations across the five boroughs also includes free mask distribution.

No registration or ID is required. Masks (and meals) can be picked up at 435 meal hubs across the city Monday through Friday, 7:30a–1:30p. Find your pickup location by texting “FOOD” or “COMIDA” to 877-877 or by checking the website.

The following are the meal hubs that can be found in or near Lower Manhattan:

Battery Park City School
55 Battery Place

Stuyvesant High School

P.S. 001 Alfred E. Smith
8 Henry Street
