History Meets Luxury At The New Beekman Hotel

A famed, 1883 high-rise that was one of Lower Manhattan’s first skyscrapers and the city’s first fire-proof building has once again opened its doors.
The architectural masterpiece at 5 Beekman Street is now home to the stunning Beekman Hotel and two highly-anticipated restaurants created by star chefs Tom Colicchio and Keith McNally.
Featuring hardwood desks, Turkish rugs, mosaic-tiled floors, ornate handrails that give off a Titanic-type movie feel and a restored nine-story atrium with a pyramidal skylight, the luxurious new Thompson hotel transports you into another era. Walking into the space, many guests will not be able to help but look up in awe.
The two soon-to-open restaurants, Colicchio’s Fowler & Wells and McNally’s Augustine, are already stirring up culinary buzz. The hotel’s location — in the middle of New York’s oldest neighborhood, within walking distance of some of the city’s most famous attractions — is another draw.
