Proper Food Offers A Fresh Take On Takeout
By: Teresa Figario
Sick and tired at the lack of healthy options for the active businessperson in downtown SF, co-CEO’s Howard and Dana Bloom aimed to create a place where busy folks on the go didn’t have to sacrifice time or quality for convenience. They launched Proper Food in their hometown in 2014 with fresh, seasonal ingredients that’s chopped, packed and ready to go.
With nine locations already established in San Francisco, Proper Food’s 67 Wall Street location is their tenth outpost, as well as their first spot on the east coast. Their concentration on all-natural, healthy eating follows a growing trend in Lower Manhattan, in the company of popular Dig Inn and (yet to open) by CHLOE in the Seaport District. What sets them apart is their focus on saving time without skimping on flavor or value. Focused on clean, wholesome cuisine, their varied menu of salads, sandwiches, soups and chef’s specials are made fresh daily – and from-scratch – by their diligent founding Executive Chef, Juan Muñoz.
So next time the hustle and bustle of life has you in a rush but you still want to eat healthy, definitely give the grab-and-go Proper Food a go. Conveniently open seven days a week: Monday – Friday: 7am – 9pm and Saturday / Sunday: 9am – 5pm
