Fearless Girl Invests In New Wall St. Digs

The City announced Fearless Girl will be relocating sometime this year to a safer spot on Broad Street, where she’ll face the New York Stock Exchange.
“We are pleased by the city’s decision to relocate the Fearless Girl from a busy intersection on lower Broadway to the Stock Exchange area,” said Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin. “Her new location is both safer and a fitting and natural home for her.”
Protected within the NYSE security zone, the 50-inch bronze statue – which has become a symbol of feminism for many – will now offer a safer and more welcoming destination for the thousands of visitors who line up to take selfies with her every year.
The statue was created by Kristen Visbal and commissioned by State Street Global Advisors as a fund advertisement. While the statue has received criticism as a publicity stunt, it has also quickly established itself as a major attraction for visitors in Lower Manhattan.
As previously reported in the news, the city continues to evaluate safety concerns about the Charging Bull‘s current location on Broadway, which could potentially result in a relocation and/or the addition of additional protective measures.
