McNally’s Trendy Touch Arrives In LM With The Opening of Augustine

By: Caroline De Tino

Keith McNally has staked his culinary claim in Lower Manhattan with his latest restaurant, Augustine.

McNally’s celebrated restaurant empire dates back to the 80s. His very first in New York was the Odeon in Tribeca. Then came Pastis in the Meatpacking District and Pulino’s (now known as Cherche Midi) on the Bowery. He is known for creating some of New York’s trendiest restaurants, also including Balthazar, Schiller’s and Minetta Tavern.

Housed in the fabulous Beekman Hotel, McNally’s new — and much anticipated — bistro-style eatery serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and features French classics and lighter fare. With tiled walls, wrought-iron chandeliers and stained glass, the brasserie-like atmosphere is elegant, cozy and inviting. The food is generating a lot of buzz, including the intriguing “whisky burger.” Look out for breakfast service, which is set to begin on January 2.

Let one of Lower Manhattan’s hottest new restaurants melt your winter blues.
